5 reasons to choose Alive! Driving
If you want to know why you should choose us then read the in-depth sections below which cover all aspects of our business and how Chris constantly strives to give the best driving lessons in Burton on Trent.
1. A great driving instructor
Nobody wants to spend ages learning to drive so you want to have the confidence that you’ll pass 1st time.
Chris has an outstanding pass rate of 85%! Compare that to the national and local average of only 46% and you have possibly the highest pass rate in Burton.
In the last 18 months more than 8 out of 10 of Chris’s students have passed their driving test at the very 1st attempt. And no one has taken more than 2 tests without passing. This enviably high first time pass rate is even more impressive as these students recorded either very few driving faults or no faults whatsoever!
Oddly, the national statistics show that females have a lower pass rate than males. Yet in the last 18 months under Chris’s instruction 92% of female students have passed first time!
Many thanks Chris for your patience and excellent teaching – I can’t believe I passed first time!
2. A professional approach
Chris established Alive Driving in 2007 and set out to create an elite learner driver experience. One of Chris’s strengths lies in his fantastic interpersonal skills which give him the ability to both relate well to people, and then communicate with them in a very clear way. This has been recognised by the DVSA who regularly assess driving instructors. Chris is a Grade A instructor which, as you might guess, is the highest grade achievable and the highest graded driving instructor in Burton on Trent according to the DVSA “find a driving instructor” website.
Chris has passed the AIM RoadSmart (formerly known as the Institute of Advanced Motorists) Advanced Driving Test for both cars and motorcycles.
He is a former Chair of the Institute of Professional Driving Instructors, a Midlands based group committed to developing and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.
Chris helped me lean a new skill that I will use for the rest of my life and I don’t believe that there is any better teacher than him!
3. A shiny new car
You will always drive a modern car specifically selected because of its suitability for learning to drive in. Examples include the Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Fiesta, Citroen C3, or Peugeot 208. The current car is a Mazda 2, a former winner of the World Car of the Year award, and described by Autocar as “a cracking car and great fun to drive”. It is, of course, fitted with dual-controls.
Automatic lessons are available in the highly regarded Skoda Yeti, a compact SUV with the benefit of a higher seating position. Learn more.
